6. Rights and Obligations of Scholarship Recipients

  1. Departure within the Approved Period: Recipients must depart for their overseas exchange or study program within the approved period. Failure to do so will be regarded as forfeiture of the scholarship. In cases of force majeure requiring a postponement of departure or a change of host university, recipients must first obtain written approval from the host institution and submit a request to OIA to retain their scholarship eligibility. Retention is subject to approval by the convener of the review committee and is limited to one year.
  2. Disbursement of Scholarship Funds: The scholarship will be disbursed in two installments.
    • First Installment (50%): After signing an administrative contract with CCU, recipients must submit their admission letter (or confirmation of dual-degree enrollment), along with their planned flight ticket or visa documents, to apply for the first installment.
    • Second Installment (Remaining 50%): Within two months after returning to Taiwan, recipients must submit a program completion report and participate in a designated scholarship experience-sharing session. Upon fulfilling these requirements, they may apply for the remaining scholarship funds. Further rights and obligations are subject to the administrative contract.
  3. Repayment of Scholarship Funds: If a recipient withdraws from CCU, takes a leave of absence, or fails to return to Taiwan to continue and complete their studies at CCU, the university will recover the first installment already disbursed in accordance with the administrative contract, and the second installment will not be granted.
  4. Completion of Reporting Requirements: Failure to submit the required completion report or participate in the designated experience-sharing session after returning to Taiwan will be considered a failure to fulfill the scholarship obligations. In such cases, the second installment will not be granted.
